Tips on Moving with Your Car and Getting Licenses
Posted on 08/10/2010
If you shipped your car to your new home, it's important that you visit the DMV office as soon as possible so your car license plates can be changed as soon as possible. If you are only sixteen, you might also need to check out whether you will be issued a driver's license in the state you are living in now. State laws vary so it's safer to check first. Some states allow it as long as there is parental consent. Others don't but some states also allow it outright though. Before your register your car though, make sure that it will pass the emission test. Otherwise, you might not be able to get the registration until you fix the problem. If you are trying to obtain a driver's license you might also be required to take written and practical driving tests first depending on the state. So you should check out the requirements first. Better yet, you should review the traffic rules and your driving skills beforehand. Of course, don't forget to bring all paperwork and documents of the vehicle. You should also be complete with your identification cards and social security number. If you cannot get a license right away, you might as well sell your car for the time being and get a new one when you are already of age.
